Had a huge problem running a mono water team into Erika as well. Lowkey I only won because of RNG. I put ice fang on gyarados and hoped for a freeze. If frozen, I switched into cloyster and shell smash + icicle crash is OP. It took many attempts, this gym realllly sucked. Good luck!
