Yes, Memento is in the general loot pool. It can drop if you farm backpacks. All Masks, Chest, and Backpacks have 1 generic mod slot. There aren’t any that have more than 1. Core refers to the Weapon Damage (Red, up to 15%) core, the Defence (Blue, up to 170k armour) core, or the Utility (Yellow, +1 Skill Tier) core on each armour piece.

I was farming different gear pieces and exotic caches were only really a bonus. I cannot beat the Hunters at level 100 after like 10th times, then I randomly go to countdown and set targeted loot to backpack, voila I get Memento afterwards. 3 months, then two in 20 minutes. On legendary I got it quickly.
