Im pretty new to DF, but havin a great time, on my first fort now with about 40 dorfs. my food production has suddenly far outmatched my dwarves hunger, and ive ended up with a butcher shop full of miasma and rotten pig, and withered crops. Nothing there, and it seems to have stopped now. Thanks for the help though. one possibility is clutter, when there's not enough stockpile space so food items get left in the kitchen where they rot (food does not rot in stockpiles). the other possibility is slow/unskilled chef, who is taking too damn long cooking.
