In August I bought 3 two week old chicks. I kept them in the crate at night and sectioned off part of the run for them. The older hens were very curious and spent a lot of time at the partition checking out the newcomers. After a couple of weeks I would let one of the older hens with them each day for a bit (with a watchful eye).
