On my Ford Ranger, the pistons in the calipers were plastic and that's why they locked up. The plastic piston gets worn and then gets slightly cockeyed in the bore and so it gets stuck outward. Seen this on generals, ranger and rzrs when using high and starting out on inclines or with heavy loads. If it is, you'll need a new belt. You could try using low range if you haven't already.
