If it helps anyone with a Ruger 77-50 using #11 caps, I found a 209 conversion kit that works at a site called muzzleloadingbullets. Check for it at the bottom of the page under Ruger 209. There's also a lot of info on improving accuracy. Note: the variflame adapter they sell isn't as hot and doesn't damage the trigger seer.

(hangfires) Bh-209 needs a better lockup than the older rifles provide.

Looking to convert my muzzy (Knight Bighorn) to shoot with 209 primers. In going through the kit when I bought it I found these. Looks like the breech plug might be the right one? Not sure about the red things and pliers are for? All I need is the correct cocking device specific to 209s? Not up to date with muzzleloaders.
Ok I just ordered a 209 conversion kit for my knight wolverine. I also ordered a 100 count bag of the red disk that you put the 209 primer in to shoot. My question is can you reuse the disk with more 209 primers or are they a one time use and throw away.I have a Knight Extreme and use the plasic red disc. MK85 is probably correct. If you do not find the 209 conversion I do have a musket cap conversion for that rifle in the reloading room. I actually think I have a Musket cap and a percussion cap plunger. Knight brought out the musket cap conversion because they did not think the 209 conversion was good for the MK-85.
The 209 primer wedges into the breech plug that I have and you have to pry it out with a primer removal tool. I jumped on the 209 primer bandwagon back then and when BH209 came out, I started using it with good results. The orginal LK-93 was classified as the LK-93 wolverine and no it did not have a recoil pad. These can be identified by the fact that the stock is concave and has the word Knight molded into it.
