I deactivated the call forwarding using YouMail and now I finally got Visual Voicemail working on the Google phone app! Yes, I turned it on and off several times just in case. On the Google voicemail app it shows the prompt to call to activate visual voicemail, but it never proceeds from there. UPDATE: solved by calling and having AT&T tech support reset my network connection. That made the virtual voicemail part of the default pixel Phone app work like normal. Also note that prior to this, I did the network reset myself using the AT&T site, and it didn't work. So if this happens with your pixel 7A call and get them to do a network reset.
My wife and both got pixel 7 pros direct from Google back in October. I can't get my visual voicemail to activate, her's works fine. If use the ugly ass T-Mobile Android voicemail app can see my voicemails. I didn't have any issues with my pixel 5 which was also purchased through the Google store working with the same line.
Pixel 6, all current updates as of this comment, missing incoming calls but there isn't even a ringtone or chance to get to voicemail. Outgoing is fine so is SMS/MMS. I thought it was WiFi calling so I turned it off and things worked until it broke again.
