When I open Reshade and select ffxiv_dx11.exe then hit Next, it says it's Analyzing Executable then immediately crashes. I can't seem to figure out why Reshade itself won't complete the process.

First, make sure your ReShade version is up to date. Take note that any third party software, like MSI Afterburner / RivaTuner, can conflict with ReShade, so try to disable them. If the game uses DirectX 11, try renaming every "dxgi" file to "d3d11". Some Anti-Cheat system could detect ReShade as an untrusted software.

Historically people switched from Reshade to Gshade because Gshade was easier to install and had some features that only were usable on Reshade with a lot of hassle (like depth shaders), eventually Reshade made that easier but by then everyone switched to Gshade and generally people were happy until the recent shitshow, but current iterations of Gshade and Reshade are basically the same.
