Ficelle Sep 5, 2021 @ 9:16am. Why no gas is more about balance than anything. Same reason most cars are in poor condition. Cars are great...but they trivialise the game quite a lot. So the player has to do a tiny bit of work to get one in working order (or just be lucky...) Anyway for gas, it is very easy.

Put the generator near the gas (the place where you take gas away to your car) check if the generator have good condition, and dont forget to turn it on, then you can take away the gas. Beware, turning generators on, Always attracts zombies from far. #2.If you have a gas can that's at least partially empty, you can click on one of the gasoline pumps and there should be an option to 'Take Fuel' which will fill up the gas can. Right click on the vehicle near the gas tank (you might need to experiment to find the exact spot). There will be an option that says "siphon gas." With the number of gas stations in the vanilla map, I imagine you’d have enough gas to run a few generators for years. But the new solar panel mod is a fun alternative. You have to find the skill mag, solar cells and batteries to make it work and it can be used in tandem with fuel for your generator. You are meant to die, the game is about ... Alternative suggestion: See if you can fuel some empty gas cans or generators at the pump (assuming you have it turned on for the latter). You can do that directly with right click as long as the power is on and you have some in your inventory. If you can’t, the pump is out of gas, and you’ll need to find another. I have read somewhere that the storage of the gas station is limited, but that the amount of gasoline in the storage is very high, making it unlimited in practice. Currently have a base here, specifically in the spiffo's. It's not bad, but like others have said, you have to deal with large groups of zombies migrating towards you from the towns on either side.

However, it might be a better idea to find a bigger gas tank and replace the damaged tank entirely if it's severely damaged. Gas tanks can be repaired at Metalworking 3 and Mechanics 2 without possibility of damage.
