The best pierce 3 hbg that is walkable gets trashed on by the rapid 2 narga lbg. Same is true for almost every ammo type except spread which is roughly even. The difference from the hbg Special ammo being better can't make up for that difference, especially when lbg wire bugs are better for mobility and buff your dmg.
The anja light bowgun is the best sticky+cluster LBG. It's got the highest capacity for sticky 3 (which is 1), cluster effect I, and the highest raw of the LBGs that fit that criteria. Narga LBG is what you want as it will rapid Pierce 2. Rhenoplos S helm. Shell Studded S chest. Rath S Gauntlets. Spio/Skalds S waist. Rajang S pants. This will give you a nice spread of crit boost, weakness exploit, pierce up, and attack. Try to fit in more attack with the talisman and decos. A Fun/Different LBG Build - Slicing Rapid Fire. Using hailstorm and building for pierce is an odd choice. If you want to go pierce then stick to the malzeno/shagaru/narga lines for rapid fire pierce 2. You'll need to find room for some salvo decos but your damage will be way higher. edit: I personally use the Malzeno lbg because walking reload feels so good.

By comparison, when I play Pierce HBG I usually average around 25%-30% depending if I run a shield setup or not. Shield ranges from 20-25% and shieldless 25-30%. It's not high dps because it's sticky but I'm guessing ...HBG and LBG are going to be reeeeally hard to build effectively early on. Narg and Kadachi HBGs are pretty good with pierce, and can be worked on as you advance. They even synergize with Narg set! Do your tailraider stuff for ancient fragments so you can build the gloves, as they're absurdly useful during storyline.
