As I now own 2 pre 1974 Marlin 39A, I am looking to buy a firing pin or 2 to add to my spare parts bin. Brownells list a pin, but it says post 1974, and the photo shows a difference at the business end with the size of the cut-outs. Marlin Spares in the UK only show a post 1974 pin as well.

Some times it will fire several shots OK but for the most part misfires are more often than not. Looking at the bases of the unfired rounds shows no sign of the firing pin striking.It’s in good shape with light wear from usage, storage, and handling.
