A lot of the issues with Toxicologist are simply because the math is a hard wall. Alchemist has low attack bonus and slow DC scaling. Fix the former by giving poison to the fighter, but there's not really great ways to reduce Fortitude saves. Blowgun and Subtle Delivery I feel is a trap option. SD only improves failed saves.

Elixirs of Life are non-magical alchemical elixirs. Healing Potions are consumable magical items. The elixirs give a bonus to saves against diseases and poisons for 10 minutes, while the Healing potions generally heal more hit points.
