Drying is excellent. This model most definitely has a count down timer. All Dishwashers today have long cycles due to water restrictions . It does have a short one hour cycle but we haven’t used it. We had 15 for Easter Dinner. This machine took all the plates, silverware, and glassware. Clean and spotless at the end of the cycle.
