Clutch Replacement on 2005 Vulcan 800 Classic. Bought this used bike a few weeks ago. The clutch does not grab until I am like a quarter inch away from letting the lever go. The adjustment on the clutch lever is not the culprit so it appears that the clutch is worn or there is another adjustment elswhere.

Aug 25, 2008 · If it is OK, you have most of the fuel/air problems sorted out, leaving compression and ignition as likely suspects. If the engine fires good cold, compression is probably OK. Check your plugs. A cracked or burnt out plug can cause high speed misfires and stalling as well.

Aug 13, 2008 · 2000 Vulcan 800 A-6 Carberator problem fixed I also had some strange issues with my 2000 Vulcan 800 A-6. Mine lost power and stalled twice over a couple months while at about 20 MPH. Shortly afterward, I started smelling gas and the leaking from the carb only got worse. I pulled the tank jsut to look, but backed off the carb. Clean the kill switch contacts while you are there. Pull the ignition fuse (number 7). Check for power to the fuse. If have power, clean the fuse spades with the wire brush and reinstall. While the bike is running, check the side stand switch and clutch switch. Put the side stand down, pull in the clutch and put in gear.Apr 24, 2006 · Check for oil around the spark plug cavity and then explore this further. On the 1500, the service manul says a special tool is need to pull the spark plug tubes, but you can fashion a tool out of the rear axle nut and unscrew the tube. I'd bet the 800 is similar. Hope this helps or gets you going in the right direction. 3. Generally there is a switch that expands and contracts with heat, thus making the necessary "contact" allowing fan to operate. 4. I took it off and tested it with a drill and everything forward of the rear wheel seems to be in good working order. I'm looking out at partzilla at the rear hub's diagram but can't make heads or tails of anything there. Newbie here.
