Great radio, easy to modify and as you have discovered, built like a tank. They were considerably more expensive than the other radios in the Cobra line so they weren't real big sellers. I've always liked the XLR series of Cobras. I run a 29 XLR as a backup radio and even after 30+ years on the road it still performs well.
