I was able to successfully turn subtitles on and off multiple times in the HBO Max App on my X1 cable box, and change the language while watching House of the Dragon by choosing the subtitle option I wanted, and then pressing "Last", to go back to the show, which then plays with the subtitle option just selected showing on screen successfully.Have you tried backing out of all apps, go to settings, go to device care, manage storage, select the infinity app, clear cache. Then go back into the Xfinity app and start a program. CC is defaulted to on, so pause the program and at the bottom of the screen arrow over to cc, turn it off.
