If you want to try a faster weapon, my favorite for those is the Kusarigama, and for heavier weapons both Odachi and the Axe are nice though require some more Ki management, especially on high stance. My recommended beginner weapon is the Spear though for great Ki damage and longer reach. Used the switchglave as well.
