My Ford 6600 is used for cutting and baling hay. I was cutting yesterday and took a five minute break and when I got back in the tractor, the PTO did not want to engage. It finally did, but it seemed balky. Once engaged, it worked perfectly. Is this an adjustment problem in the lever or could it be a sign of something more serious?

When you crank the engine with bleeder screw out, fuel should shoot out. A dribble is nothing. You probably have a blockage somewhere. Crack open the line from the filters at the injection pump. You should get a good gravity flow of fuel there unless your tractor has a lift pump.You can loosen the fuel cap and remove the line at the shutoff and give a shot of compressed air back into the tank to clear it, or remove the valve and clean or replace it. The 6000 I have has been a very good tractor. Yes the pump was juiced up, and it does have a nicer seat than the factory. I did install hydrostatic steering, but over all it is one stronger puller.
