11. Patch 1.02, which was released to consoles on 12/8 (and PC as beta earlier than that), removed the ability to gain infinite caps by buying/selling ammo from vendors. It is explained in a EuroGamer (and many other) articles. However, there are still many ways to make seemingly infinite money, if you don't mind using exploits.

If settler assigned to a shop and refuses to trade during the daytime try to assign them to farming and then back to the shop.

If the update changes Fallout4.exe (i.e. a new version number), then F4SE will stop working for a few days until the Silverlock guys update it. That means all games relying on F4SE will also stop working. In addition, there's plenty other stuff that could stop working, depending on what the game update changes internally.
