May 24, 2023 · Unfortunately, the sensor is molded into the washer fluid reservoir, so you have to replace the entire assembly. I don't think it's a very complicated replacement, though. There's a prevalent theory that using washer fluid with Rain-X type additives can contaminate the sensor, causing it to illuminate the light. As the Owners Manual says on page 3-27: If your vehicle is equipped with the outside mirror defogger, the outside mirror defogger operates while the windshield wiper deicer is operating.
