Probably your best bet is to drill into that "rear sight block" (which has no sight on it, but presents a nice flat surface on top), tap the new holes for screws, and install a short length of low-profile, Picatinny rail such as is available at Brownell's or Ergo Grips, and use that for your red dot sight mount.
