1 Answer. I take it you mean when you pull on the handle it will not open. If the handle is loose, like nothing connected, then the plastic latch mechanism is broken leading from the handle to the lock. The handle requires changing and the inner door panel must be removed to do it. It is not a difficult job. 36 people found this helpful.

You can use a pry bar or large plate blade screwdriver to lift it up a bit and get more clearance. You can look at the door on the other side to get an idea of where the screws are.
